We are looking for a patient, high-energy, and nurturing Pre-K Teaching Assistant to help create a world of wonder for our youngest learners. In this role, you aren’t just "helping out"—you are a co-pilot in the classroom, ensuring that every child feels safe, seen, and supported as they navigate their first big steps into education.

Responsibilities

  • Instructional Support: Work 1-on-1 or in small groups to reinforce classroom lessons on phonics, counting, and social-emotional skills.

  • Classroom Management: Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a structured, positive environment. (Yes, this includes the art of the "quick transition" from playtime to naptime.)

  • Student Supervision: Keep a watchful eye on students during recess, lunch, and bathroom breaks to ensure safety and proper hygiene.

  • Material Prep: Get hands-on with lesson prep—cutting out shapes, setting up sensory bins, and organizing the "organized chaos" of a Pre-K classroom.

  • Observation & Documentation: Help track student progress and milestones to provide meaningful updates to parents and administrators.

  • Light Maintenance: Keep the learning environment clean, sanitized, and inviting.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Teaching Assistant certification (or willingness to become certified) required.   Preferred applicants will have experience working with students in an educational setting.
