Questar III BOCES is seeking a passionate and innovative New Vision Law Teacher to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to integrate legal principles with real-world applications, delivering effective instruction and support.
The New Visions Law Teacher will have experience with researching relevant case law and statutory precedent, analyzing legal documents and briefs, ensuring accurate statements and depiction of facts, case law, and precedent provided and understanding reporting any inconsistencies or suggested revisions to attorneys.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent legal education required; superior academic credentials preferred.
  • Admission to state Bar highly preferred.
  • Valid state teaching certification (grades 9-12).
World Language Teacher – Virtual Learning Academy

Job Description

Starting Immediately - Questar III BOCES announces a World Language Teacher (Maternity Leave Coverage) position to serve students in our Virtual Learning Academy during school hours.  The Virtual Learning Academy supports component district students in a remote learning environment that have chosen to attend school virtually in the 2025-2026 school year.

About the Job

Questar III BOCES is seeking a passionate and innovative Science Teacher to join our team and support our Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Career Studies (CS) programs for 11th and 12th-grade students. This position offers a unique opportunity to integrate scientific principles with real-world applications, delivering effective instruction and support in CTE and CS curricular areas preparing students for successful careers in diverse fields.
The Science Teacher (CTE/Career Studies Focus) will develop and deliver an engaging, standards-aligned science curriculum that complements and enhances our existing CTE and CS programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of scientific concepts and be able to translate them into practical, career-focused learning experiences. They will collaborate with CTE and CS instructors to create interdisciplinary projects and provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for post-secondary education and career success.


Responsibilities


Curriculum Development and Instruction:

  •  Develop and implement science curriculum (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science) that aligns with state standards and integrates seamlessly with CTE pathways such as healthcare, engineering, technology, culinary and agriculture.
  • Design and deliver hands-on laboratory experiments, projects, and activities that connect scientific theory to real-world applications within CTE fields.
  • Incorporate career exploration and workplace skills into science instruction, emphasizing the relevance of science to various professions.
  •  Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and technology integration.
  •  Develop and implement assessments to monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback.

Collaboration and Integration:

  • Collaborate with CTE instructors to develop and implement interdisciplinary projects and activities that bridge science and career-related skills.
  • Work with industry partners and community organizations to provide students with opportunities for internships, job shadowing, and guest speaker presentations.
  • Participate in CTE program planning and development, contributing to the alignment of science curriculum with industry standards and workforce needs.


Student Support and Guidance:

  • Provide academic support and guidance to students, including individualized instruction and tutoring as needed.
  • Advise students on post-secondary education and career pathways in STEM-related fields.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
  • Stay current with advancements in science and CTE education through professional development opportunities.
  • Implement new technology and best practices in the science classroom.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related science field.

  • Experience teaching science at the high school level, preferably with a focus on CTE or career studies.

Questar III BOCES is seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our dynamic faculty as a full-time probationary High School Special Education Teacher at our Marilyn A. Noonan School at Durham in Durham, NY. You must hold current New York State certification in either Math 7-12 or Science 7-12 with the addition of Special Education certification.  Preferred applicants will have experience delivering instruction to students in a Special Education setting.

The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a love of mathematics (Algebra IA and IB, Consumer Math, Math Electives) in students while providing a rigorous and engaging learning environment. We are looking for an educator who can effectively teach a range of math courses along with Living Sciences, from foundational concepts to everyday topics, and who is dedicated to student success.

Responsibilities/Instructional Delivery:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and address diverse learning styles within a Special Education setting.

  • Deliver effective instruction in mathematics, including but not limited to: Algebra IA, Algebra IB, Consumer Math, Life and Living Sciences..

  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, group activities, technology integration, and hands-on experiments.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of all students, including those with special needs learning differences.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Develop and administer assessments, including quizzes, tests, projects, and presentations, to evaluate student understanding and progress.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding student performance.   

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student grades and attendance.

  • Analyze assessment data to inform instructional practices and identify areas for improvement.

Classroom Management:

  • Establish and maintain clear classroom expectations and procedures.

  • Promote a safe and respectful learning environment.

  • Effectively manage student behavior and address disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns.   

  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide events.

  • Work with student support services to provide appropriate interventions and accommodations.

Professional Development:

  • Stay current with best practices in mathematics education and pedagogy.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

  • Contribute to the school's professional learning community.

Other Duties:

  • Supervise students during non-instructional time, such as lunch, recess, or extracurricular activities.

  • Participate in school committees and other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.

  • New York State certification in either Math 7-12 or Science 7-12 with the addition of Special Education certification OR Valid state teaching certification in mathematics

  • 1-5 years of teaching experience is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Mathematics/Science content and pedagogy.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to use technology effectively in the classroom.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with special education students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications:
