About
Questar III BOCES is seeking a dedicated, certified New York State educator to provide targeted, virtual instruction for credit recovery students. This position offers an excellent opportunity to supplement your income with a flexible schedule, small class sizes, and the ability to work from anywhere.
Schedule: 2 hours, twice per week (4 hours total instruction per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Provide 2 hours of instruction twice a week, utilizing flexible, individualized, and evidence-based online teaching practices.
- Student Engagement: Foster a positive, supportive virtual learning environment that motivates students to actively participate and succeed.
- Curriculum Alignment: Ensure all course content and assignments align with the New York State Learning Standards and Assessments while tailoring lessons to meet diverse student needs.
- Goal Setting & Communication: Clearly communicate course expectations and progress milestones; collaborate with individual students to adjust goals as needed.
- Substantive Interaction: Maintain regular, meaningful contact with students to guide their academic recovery.

Minimum Qualifications
- NYS Certification: Appropriate New York State Teacher Certification is required at the time of hire.
- Strong digital literacy and comfort navigating online learning management systems (LMS) and virtual classrooms.
