Job Description
Questar III BOCES announces a vacancy for a full-time probationary Teaching Assistant position for our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Automotive Technology class located at our Robert H. Gibson Technical School in Troy, NY. Utilizing state-of-the art professional tools and computer systems, students learn automotive repair and maintenance skills. This is a two-year program based on the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF) model for Maintenance and Light Repair. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified, this program is designed to graduate entry-level technicians with a broad skill set, a solid foundation in electrical/electronics, and a general understanding of all automotive systems.
This position will assist under the direction of a certified CTE Teacher in the delivery of instruction and management of classroom behaviors. Minimum Qualifications: NYS Teaching Assistant certification (or ability to become certified) required at time of hire. Preferred candidates will have experience in an automotive related industry.

Requirements:

NYS Teaching Assistant certification level 1 or higher (or proof of working towards certificate in process) required. Willingness to be hired as a Teachers Aide while pursuing certification.

Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and a desire to work with kids are encouraged to apply.

Preferred candidates will have experience working with Special Education students.
